1. Introduction and review (第1-2週) 2. Baseband data transmission (第3-5週) (1) Baseband transmission of digital data, (2) The intersymbol interference (ISI) problem, (3) The Nyquist channel and the raised-cosine pulse spectrum, (4) Baseband transmission of M-ary data. 3. Digital band-pass modulation techniques (第6-8週) (1) Binary Amplitude-Shift Keying (ASK), (2) Phase-Shift Keying (PSK), (3) Frequency-Shift Keying (FSK), (4) Noncoherent digital modulation schemes, (5) M-ary digital modulation schemes, (6) Mapping of digitally modulated waveforms onto constellations of signal point 4. Random signals and noise (第9-11週) 期中考 (1) Probability and random variables, (2) Expectation, (3) Random processes, (4) Spectra of random signals, (5) Linear systems and random processes, (6) White noise and narrowband noise 5. Noise in digital communications (第11-14週) (1) Bit error rate (BER), (2) Detection of a signal pulse in noise, (3) Optimum detection of binary PAM in noise, (4) Optimum detection of BPSK, (5) Detection of QPSK and QAM in noise, (6) Optimum detection of binary FSK, (7) Differential detection in noise, (8) Error detection and correction 6. OFDM transmission (第14-15週) (1). Basic principles of OFDM, (2) OFDM implementation using IFFT/FFT processing, (3) Selection of basic OFDM parameters 7. Spread spectrum communications (第16-17週) (1) Pseudo-noise sequences, (2) A notion of spread spectrum, (3) Direct- sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) with coherent BPSK, (4) Frequency- hop spread spectrum (FHSS) 8.
