課程大綱 This course covers the electronic properties, circuit analyses, design methods and chip layout of the CMOS VLSI. The contents of this course include: Introduction to VLSI, CMOS manufacturing process, digital circuit design, MOS Transistor Theory, Circuit characterization, performance estimation, chip layout, Hspice simulation and Verilog HDL simulation.

課程進度 Week 1 VLSI Introduction. Week 2 Public Holiday. Week 3 Manufacturing Process. Week 4 Digital Circuit Introduction. Week 5 Nonideal Transistor Theory. Week 6 DC and Transient Response. Week 7 Logic Effort. Week 8 Power . Week 9 Wires. Week 10 SPICE Simulation. Week 11 Chip layout (A+B). Week 12 ModelSim introduction Week 13 Quatus II Introduction. Week 14 Analog Circuit Design. Week 15 Digital Circuit Design. Week 16 Verilog HDL simulation. Week 17 Examples (1). Week 18 Examples (2).

評量方式與標準 (1). General Performance 10%. (2). Homework 30%. (3). Midterm exam 30% (Open book). (3). Final exam 30%.
