課程大綱	This course teaches Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences students. The four English skills (reading, listening, writing and speaking) will be taught in an integrated manner.
課程進度	Schedule: Week 1 – Introduction Week 2 - Holiday Week 7 - Holiday Week 9 – School mid-term (no class) Week 10 - Writing test Week 13 – Speaking test Week 14 – Speaking test Week 15 – Final Exam Week 17 - Holiday Week 18 - Consultation session (no class) All other weeks: 1. Read 1 to 2 units from the textbook(s). Students will pick the units. 2. Read 1 to 2 latest news article(s) on engineering. 3. Listen to a recording/podcast/video on engineering. 4. Engage in discussions on topics covered in the readings and/or listening exercises.
評量方式與標準	Evaluation (to be finalized) Writing test* 15% School mid-term 20% Speaking test* 15% Final Exam* 30% Participation and attendance 20% *At the lecturer’s sole discretion, a makeup exam or test may be granted upon presentation of a note of approval for leave from the university system no later than 5 days after the date of exam. The format of the makeup exam will be determined by the lecturer. Attendance policy You will automatically fail the course (0%) with 8 or more unexcused absences from Week 2 onwards. You may get an excused absence only upon presentation of a note of approval for leave from the university system.
