課程大綱	The main purpose of this course is to introduce the basic knowledge of the computer operating system, system module, and overall operation mechanism. Course content includes operating system architecture, processes and threads, CPU scheduling, deadlock, memory systems, file systems, I/O systems, and the concepts of computer security. Course objectives: * To understand the functions of operating systems * To understand the design considerations of the components of an operating system. * To know the important algorithms of operating systems.
課程進度	Week 1: Course Introduction, PC Internals Week 2: Introduction Week 3: System Structures Week 4: Process Concept (1) Week 5: Process Concept (2) Week 6: Multithreaded Programming Week 7: Process Scheduling (1) Week 8: Process Scheduling (2) Week 9: Midterm exam. Week 10: Synchronization (1) Week 11: Synchronization (2) Week 12: Deadlocks Week 13: Memory management Week 14: Virtual memory Week 15: No class Week 16: Storage management Week 17: File systems, Security Week 18: Final exam.
評量方式與標準	Midterm exam 30% Final exam 30% Assignments & Final project 25% In-class performance 15%
