課程大綱	Objective： To become familiar with signals and systems essential for communication systems, including signal spectrum (Fourier transform) and filters (LTI systems). To acquire basic knowledge of the old-fashioned analog communication systems, including AM, FM, and PM. To have good knowledge of digital communication systems, including PAM, PSK, and QAM. Prerequisite：If you have completed the course “Signals and Systems”, this course will be easier for you. If not, you can still take this course, but you have to work harder at the first 1/3 of the course.
課程進度	1. Fourier Transform (Spectrum) & Filters (3 weeks, Chapter 2) 2. Amplitude Modulation (AM) & Frequency Modulation (FM) (3 weeks, Chapter 3 & 4) 3. Analog Signal and Digital Signal Conversion (2 weeks, Chapter 5) 4. Baseband Digital Modulation (3 weeks, Chapter 6) 5. Passband Digital Modulation (5 weeks, Chapter 7)
評量方式與標準	Homework 30% Midterm Exam and Final Exam 35% each Class participation also counts in final grade
使用教材、參考書目或其他	【遵守智慧財產權觀念，請使用正版教科書，不得使用非法影印教科書】 使用外文原文書：是 Textbook: Introduction to Analog & Digital Communications, second edition, by Haykin and Moher, 滄海書局 I will put the class material (power points) on "Taipei Tech i-school Plus" and make announcement (like homeworks and exams) using "announcement" feature in "Taipei Tech i-school Plus".

備註	1. If online learning is required, we will use Microsoft Teams. Moreover, I will record all classes on Microsoft Teams no matter we have physical classes or not. 2. If online learning is required, submit your homeworks using "Taipei Tech i-school Plus"; otherwise, submit homework papers in class. 3. If we are using on-line learning at exams, we will use Microsoft Teams and "Taipei Tech i-school Plus" and you have to upload your exam paper using "Taipei Tech i-school Plus". 4. I will put the class material (power points) and make announcement on "Taipei Tech i-school Plus".
