課程大綱此課程主要是含蓋無線通訊基頻訊號處理的理論基礎與系統架構，探討無線通道所能提供的通道容量以及可靠通訊。而大部分的課程內容會以目前熱門的多輸入多輸出(MIMO)傳輸為背景而進行探討。課程綱要如下: 1.無線通道模型 2.多樣性 3.通道容量 4.MIMO I: 空間多工 5.MIMO II: 通道容量與多工架構 6.MIMO III:多樣性與多工間取捨 7.MIMO IV: 多使用者通訊 This course provides thefundamental theories and architectures for baseband wireless communications. It is concerned that how reliable communication can be achieved and what is the capacity a channel can provide. Much attention will be focused on the newly developed technology, referred to as multiple-inputmultiple-output (MIMO) transmission. Course outline: 1.The Wireless Channel 2.Diversity 3.Capacity of Wireless Channels 4.MIMO I: Spatial Multiplexing 5.MIMO II: Capacity and Multiplexing Architectures 6.MIMO III: Diversity-Multiplexing Tradeoff 7.MIMO IV: Multiuser Communication

課程進度 (subject to change based on class progress) Week 1: Introduction. Week 2: Linear Algebra and Matrix Computations (Review). Week 3: Linear Algebra and Matrix Computations (Review). Week 4: Linear Algebra and Matrix Computations (Review). Week 5: Single-Antenna Wireless Communications. Week 6: Single-Antenna Wireless Communications. Week 7: Single-Antenna Wireless Communications. Week 8: Midterm I. Week 9: Spatial Multiplexing and Receiver Design. Week 10: Spatial Multiplexing and Receiver Design. Week 11: Spatial Multiplexing and Receiver Design. Week 12: Space-Time Coding Week 13: Space-Time Coding Week 14: Midterm II. Week 15-16: Other MIMO Transceivers (Optional) Week 17-18: Final Project.

評量方式與標準 Quizzes: 30% Midterm I: 20% Midterm II: 20% Final Project: 30% (can be in Chinese/English)
