課程大綱
本課程期透過建立學生正確的研究觀念,以培養論文研究與寫作之基礎能力。根據論文寫作方法之需求,讓學生了解研究方法的本質、研究的意義、過程與方法,以及研究設計的基本概念與特性;進而瞭解如何進行質性與量化研究、資料蒐集、資料處理與統計分析,並瞭解論文格式及架構,學習撰寫研究論文並準備口頭報告,並期以哈佛個案教學方法進行,在每個個案討論當中,透過互動式、參與式學習,整合管理於實務問題上,並瞭解如何參與分組個案競賽,促進團隊互動與學習。 The objectives of this course are:1. To introduce the basic concept of research methodology that applies in academic and practical research. 2. To learn the methods of conducting research processes and preparing research proposals and reports. 3. To know how to obtain the required information through appropriate approaches in writing research papers and solving management problems。4.To learn The Management from Harvard Business School’s cases by case methods; Every case will be taught through interactive and participative learning. This course also focuses on the integration of management functions on practical approaches. Throughout the course, students will also realize how they participate in the case contest and enhance in team building, interacting and learning.

Week One—Introduction to the Course and structure of thesis • Review of Syllabus • Discussion of possible research methods • Introduction of thesis writing format, thesis elements, citation and academic ethics • Introduce the possible resources for writing a thesis • Illustration of some typical errors in thesis writing • Assign the reading material for each group Week Two— Statistics and decision research methods • Group presentation • Introduction the basic concepts of statistics • Hypothesis testing • Introduction of decision science • Illustration of decision problems • Assign the reading material for each group
