課程大綱本課程旨在訓練學生能夠靈活運用旅行中會使用的英文，並了解觀光產業的發展及所需之英文溝通內容和能力。課程中透過主題討論，讓學生對於本國及全球觀光產業及事務有進一步的認識。 This course aims to enable students to use English confidently and effectively as professionals in tourism and hospitality industry. In this course, students will also learn about trends and development in the industry at the local and global level, and strengthen their English communicative competence.

課程進度
(1-16週) The goal of the course help to: (1) build confidence in professional skills such as dealing with inquiries, marketing destinations, offering advice, negotiating, writing emails and speaking to groups, and (2)acquire the specialized vocabulary needed by tourism professionals. (3) practice language skills in realistic case studies that reflect issues in the tourist industry today. Week 1: Orientation Week 2: Before the trip Week 3: Before the trip Week 4: At the airport Week 5: At the airport Week 6: Being onboard Week 7: Being onboard; Arrival Week 8: Arrival Week 9: Midterm Exam. Week 10:Accommodation Week 11:Accommodation Week 12:Transportation Week 13:Transportation Week 14:Restaurant Week 15:Restaurant Week 16:Entertainment Week 17:Entertainment Week 18:Final Exam.

評量方式與標準 1.隨堂考(小考)Quiz、出席率Attendance、上課參與討論Participation & discussion、書面報告Written report、上課筆記Class notes等:40% (出席最少佔20%) 2.期中考Mid-term Exam: 20% 3.期末考Final Exam (or Oral Presentation or Report):20% 4.英文會考:20% 5.本課程之教學內容，進度，方法，及成績評量均為預期計畫，課程進行中會根據實際進度及學生學習成效而調整，教師保留隨時修改教學內容，進度，方法，及成績評量的權力。(Adjustments are made according to instructor`s actual teaching schedule and students’ classroom performance and learning outcomes.)
