課程大綱本課程將閱讀並討論聯合國2030年持續發展議程的議題，主題和做法。藉由對全球繁榮，社會平等和環境可持續性共同藍圖的認識，學生能進一步參加全球活動，並在本地和跨域發展共同夥伴關係，以參與持續發展目標的行動。此外，學生將能夠通過批判性閱讀和討論來強化英語能力，並為與可持續發展目標有關的更深入的交流做好準備。 This course (English for SDGs, Section A) will read and discuss issues, topics, and practices of the UN’s 2030 agenda for sustainable development, adopted by all UN member states. With full insights and comprehensive views of the shared blueprint for global prosperity, social equality and environmental sustainability, students are expected to participate in global activities and form partnership locally and across borders to engage in SDGs actions. In addition, students will be able to enhance their English competence through critical reading and discussion, and will be prepared for more in-depth communication pertaining to the SDGs. Learning Outcomes By the end of the course, students will be able to: 1. Explain selected SDG issues clearly in English using key vocabulary and basic evidence (data, examples). 2. Participate actively in structured small-group discussions using discussion roles and sentence frames. 3. Connect global issues to Taiwan contexts using specific local examples and terms. 4. Evaluate SDG solutions by identifying tradeoffs, stakeholders, and feasibility. 5. Deliver short presentations with clear structure, intelligible delivery, and responsive Q&A.

評量方式與標準 Participation & Preparedness: 30% Active participation in structured discussions, completion of in-class tasks, respectful listening and engagement, and basic preparation for weekly topics. Class Work Portfolio: 20% Collection of selected in-class work (checked mid-semester and at the end). May include short reflections, vocabulary notes, stakeholder maps, discussion worksheets, and question responses. Graded for completion and engagement. Student-Led Facilitation: 20% In groups, students lead one SDG-themed class segment using a guided facilitation format. Assessed on clarity of explanation, vocabulary support, Taiwan connection, and ability to guide discussion and Q&A. Final Project: 30% Absences: Each unapproved absence / lateness will result in a 2% deduction of the semester grades on the 100% scale.
