課程大綱 This course provides the fundamental theories and architectures for baseband wireless communications. It is concerned that how reliable communication can be achieved and what is the diversity a channel can provide. Much attention will be focused on the newly developed technology, called multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmission. Course outline: Part 1. Fundamental Matrix Operations. Part 2. Wireless Channels and Single-Antenna Wireless Communications. Part 3. MIMO Wireless Communications.

課程進度 (subject to change based on class progress) Week 1: Introduction. Week 2: Linear Algebra and Matrix Computations (Review). Week 3: Linear Algebra and Matrix Computations (Review). Week 4: Linear Algebra and Matrix Computations (Review). Week 5: Single-Antenna Wireless Communications. Week 6: Single-Antenna Wireless Communications. Week 7: Single-Antenna Wireless Communications. Week 8: Midterm I. Week 9: Spatial Multiplexing and Receiver Design. Week 10: Spatial Multiplexing and Receiver Design. Week 11: Spatial Multiplexing and Receiver Design. Week 12: Space-Time Coding. Week 13: Space-Time Coding. Week 14: Midterm II. Week 15-16: Other MIMO Transceivers (Optional). Week 17-18: Final Project.

評量方式與標準 Quizzes: 30% Midterm I: 20% Midterm II: 20% Final Project: 30%
