課程大綱	The goal of this course is to improve the reading and writing ability of graduate student. The contents include general formats of sentences, vocabularies, reading skill, and infrastructure of English report and academic papers.
課程進度	Week 1: Procedures for writing scientific papers - basic rules, norms, and academic ethics; Week 2: Common vocabulary for writing scientific papers; Week 3: Structural analysis of scientific papers; Week 4: Paragraph analysis of scientific articles; Week 5: Review of scientific English grammar; Week 6: Review of scientific English sentence patterns; Week 7: Reading of sample articles in the introduction unit; Week 8: Writing practice of sample articles in the introduction unit; Week 9: Midterm exam Week 10: Reading of sample articles in the experiment and method unit; Week 11: Writing practice of sample articles in the experiment and method unit; Week 12: Reading of sample articles in the result unit; Week 13: Writing practice of sample articles in the result unit; Week 14: Reading of sample articles in the discussion unit; Week 15: Writing practice of sample articles in the discussion unit; Week 16: Reading of sample articles in the conclusion unit; Week 17: Writing practice of sample articles in the conclusion unit; Week 18: Final exam
評量方式與標準	Regular grades: 40% (including attendance, writing exercises, reports, etc.) Midterm exam: 30% Final exam: 30%
