課程大綱本課程旨在發展學生獨立規劃及從事研究的能力，學生可在指導老師的指導下，依個別的需求選擇研究的方向，訂定題目，並獨立完成研究計畫，撰寫報告。專題研究範圍含：實驗研究量調查研究或質調查研究個案研究回溯研究文化比較研究理論闡述研究 This course is designed to develop the student's background for planning and conducting research independently. The nature of the project conducted will vary from student to student, but regardless of the genre of the project, it must result in a written research report. The research project must be conducted by the student individually. It is anticipated that the project will result from: an experiment; a descriptive study using quantitative procedures or qualitative procedures; a case study; a historical study; a cross-cultural study; a theory that offers an alternative interpretation to a current theory or model.

課程進度 Students will continue writing their senior project drafts, keeping in close contact with me and turning in drafts for group peer review on for three specified deadlines before the final draft. They will make their final presentation in January.

評量方式與標準 Students are graded based on their effort and their final product. Students with a high grade will turn in drafts on time, communicate with me about their progress, give help peer review feedback to their peers, follow proper citation conventions and refrain from any unpermitted and uncited reliance on AI, and complete a project which shows their effort, critical thinking, and writing and organizational skill. They will engage in a useful conversation with previous scholars writing on related topics. Readers will be fascinated by the student's original ideas and how they are presented.

I share materials with the students when they need them. They may make use of the Seagull Handbook or their Research Methods course packet as well.

課程諮詢管道 Office hours are on Monday from 10–12 by appointment and on Wednesdays from 1:00–3:00. Students can can also use MS Teams to contact me.
