課程大綱	The first goal of this course is to engage students in the understanding and discussions on the current economic and trading issues on both global and regional scales. The second goal is to cultivate students’ full English skills, including listening, reading, speaking, writing, and interpreting/translating while exploring aforementioned global and regional economic/trading affairs.
課程進度	I. Primary textbook 1. For reading and discussions: articles from the Harvard Business Review, The Wall Street Journal-Business, The Economist, Time, etc. 2. Syllabus Week One: Introduction . Theme One: Extreme weather conditions and world economy Week Two Draught, wildfires, flooding, and their economical impacts Week Three New inventions to tackle the problem of lack of drinking water "How to capture water from the air” Week Four New inventions to cope with climate change "Artificial Milk" to reduce global warming "Floating Farm" to cope with rising sea levels . 評量方式與標準	1. General proficiency test:20% 2. Presence and participation in classroom discussions: 30% (One absence will lead to 4% deduction. Five absences will lead to failure in this course.) 3. In-class exercises and homework: 20% 4. Mid-term exam: 15% 5. Final presentation (6 mins on the stage): 15%
