課程大綱 The standards of WLANs, including IEEE 802.11a, IEEE 802.11g, and IEEE 802.11e are discussed. Both MAC layer and PHY layer techniques are covered. Topics include access technology, framed format, network management, channel coding, and OFDM modulation.

課程進度 MAC-layer: DCF (CSMA/CA protocol and RTS/CTS mechanism) (one month) MAC layer: PCF (one week) MAC Frame structure(one week) Mac layer: other topics PHY layer structure (one week) PHY layer: Interleaving and Convolution code (encoding and decoding) (three weeks) PHY layer : OFDM modulation (two week) PHY layer : Physical layer packet structure (one week) Projects review or new 802.11 standards (two week)

評量方式與標準 In class Homeworks (40%) Midterm exam (30 %) Final exam (30 %) Extra points for class participation
