Chinese Character Art and Culture 2.0 2
English Description
Compared to Western phonetic writing, Chinese writing is also known as Han characters. Due to changes in writing tools and materials, the development of Chinese writing has undergone various transformations throughout the ages, with the use of brushes showcasing various styles of line art at different stages. As the traditional scholar identity evolved, calligraphy, which relied on traditional culture and served as a tool for political education and a badge of honor for literati, also experienced fluctuations in value. Calligraphy gradually became an independent art form over time and has been interpreted with modern aesthetic concepts since the establishment of the Republic of China, thus establishing the modern aesthetic nature of calligraphy.
