地表和地下水的非點源污染,已經成為全世界各地區相當嚴重的環境問題。非點源污染本身複雜的特性導致集水區內污染物承載推估與污染源之標定非常困難。本課程之目的以介紹非點源污染之污染源特性及傳輸途徑為起點,教導學生學習使用最新的科技與工具,去建立最有效可行的最佳管理作業(Best Management Practice, BMP)之配置計劃,以達到集水區內非點源污染之削減目標。學生們將學習應用與統合地理資訊系統、遙測資料、水文暨水質數理模式、以及專家系統去解決集水區內非點源污染的控制問題。

English Description
Nonpoint source (NPS) pollution of streams, lakes, and estuaries has been a critical concern throughout the world. The difficulty in both identifying and assessing nonpoint source pollution resides precisely in the complex nature of NPS. This course aims to expose students to state-of-the-art tools and techniques for developing effective Best Management Practice (BMP) allocation plans to control NPS pollution at the watershed scale. The foundations of this course will be focused on definition of NPS pollution, NPS pollutant dynamics in bioenvironmental systems, watershed hydrology and NPS pollutant transport, as well as BMPs for NPS pollution control. Students will next learn how to apply Geographic Information System (GIS), Remote Sensing (RS), hydrologic modeling and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to the solutions of NPS pollution problems in watersheds.
