| 中文概述 Chinese Description | 地球氣候受多重因素在經長時間下的影響，通常是指長達數百年至百萬年的氣候波動，波動範圍可以對區域性或全球性的氣候特性改變，稱為氣候變遷。而在這近一個世紀的人口爆炸、科技與農業工業發展，增加了大量超出地球負荷的環境改變、廢熱與污染，使得近年來氣候特徵變異愈趨明顯。全球氣候變遷的效應日益顯著，可能會危及生存環境、資源生態、民生安全和產業發展，尤其對海島地區的衝擊最為嚴重。那我們要如何因應氣候變遷的衝擊，以具備足夠調適能力，是全民與政府所必須面對的課題，也是本課程要提供的發想。 | |||
| 英文概述 English Description | Climate change is a change in the distribution of weather patterns when that change lasts for an extended period of time (i.e., decades to millions of years). Climate change can be caused by factors such as biotic processes, variations in solar radiation received by Earth, plate tectonics, and volcanic eruptions. However, certain human activities have also been identified as significant causes of recent climate change. Climate change not only affects the natural environment, but also influences the natural resource ecology, livelihood security and industrial development. Especially, the greatest threat of climate change is to certain islands. Therefore, how to adapt the impacts of climate change is a very important issue. | |||
