| 英文概述 English Description | This graduate-level seminar examines English oral communication as professional practice in academic, educational, technological, and business contexts, encompassing presentations, speeches, and other forms of spoken interaction, as well as the teaching and guidance of these competencies. Informed by theories and research in discourse analysis and oral communication, the course analyzes video recordings of spoken communication across diverse settings to investigate how language use, interactional structure, rhetorical strategies, and multimodal resources shape communicative effectiveness, supplemented by in-class simulations and practice to test and apply analytical insights. The course emphasizes a comprehensive examination of professional oral communication from the perspectives of practitioners, teachers, and participants, as well as reflection on the nature and development of both professional and pedagogical practice. | |||
