分子模擬是一種廣泛應用在各工程領域的研究工具。針對研究目標的現象及材料,將巨觀尺度的系統映射到微觀尺度,以其組成原子和分子建立模型。模型內的原子則依循力場相互作用,於電腦上高速運算。所收集到的數據,透過統計力學的分析,可預測目標系統的巨觀性質。以此方法得到的資訊,可指引後期實驗開發的方向,以加速研發的進程並減少實驗的浪費。本課程旨在介紹常見的分子模擬理論和技巧,並協助各領域的同學對其專業問題進行實作。
英文概述
English Description
Molecular simulation provides research guidelines and fundamental understandings for studying engineering problems and designing novel materials. The target material is modelled by a microscopic system which is constructed in the atomistic level. The simulations for such system are carried out on the computers based on the applied force field, and generate information that can be used in the future design. This course introduces the basic theories and tools in modern molecular simulations. Students from different majors can formulate simulation problems based on their expertise and interests.
