本課程在教授同學有關企業成長過程的成功邏輯,並熟悉其過程中的挑戰與企業應有的策略因應作為,從而維持其競爭優勢於不墜。本課程分為兩向主要內容︰介紹有關產業分析之工具,以及以所學之分析工具進行產業結構、廠商行為、競爭型態以及產業績效之評估。在產業分析工具方面將介紹結構-行為-績效模型、五例分析模型、價值網絡模型、產業群聚模型等不同分析架構以及其理論基礎和應用方向。在產業分析的應用方面,本課程將以個別產業的產業分析報告或產業內之重要企業的個案,作為介紹產業分析的實例。並透過產業分析的分組實做,逐步帶領同學瞭解製作產業分析報告的過程,包含資料收集、產業界定、競爭議題的界定、分析討論等步驟。
英文概述
English Description
This course aims to help students understand the logic behind a firm`s profitable growth. I also hope that students can realize the challenge a firm may face and the strategic action a firm may take to sustain competitive advantage in the long term. This course examines markets: their structure, the strategies used by firms involved in the markets, and the overall economic performance of markets. We will start with the discussion of determinants of firm size. Then the course will continue to study behaviors of firms under a not perfect competitive environment and gives way to the application of economics in antitrust theory. While basic theoretical models are included-they are not the sole emphasis. In keeping with the structure-conduct-performance approach to Industrial Organization, emphasis is also placed on the use of industry case studies and applications of antitrust policies.
