| 中文概述 Chinese Description | 本課程是針對欲深入了解自1492至今美國文學的高中教師和碩士學生所設。教材囊括以口述記錄的歷史傳說、戲劇、兒童文學或是歷史紀錄。其中部分的教材會交由學生先預習，另一部分則在課堂上演練。希望透過實際演練讓學生可以應用於他們自己的課堂上。本課程除了主要的研究論文發表，課堂上的實際演練、課堂作業以及學生參與程度都會列入評分標準。 | |||
| 英文概述 English Description | This course is designed for the high school teacher and for any graduate student who wants a thorough background in the history of American literature from 1492 to the present. Texts may include stories recorded from oral tradition, letters, autobiography, novels, poems, short stories, plays, children’s literature, and/or historical documents. Some texts will be read outside of class; others will be read/acted in class, allowing students to come away with practical teaching ideas for their own classes. This course, instead of culminating in a major seminar paper, is graded based on sample teaching demonstrations, shorter writing assignments, and student participation. | |||
