| 英文概述 English Description | This course builds on Introduction to Chinese-English Interpreting and equips students with advanced skills in consecutive interpreting in both directions. Students continue with practical exercises aimed at reinforcing skills in active listening, recall and memory retention, gist extraction and note-taking. More emphasis is placed upon learning to zero in on the main idea under heavy time pressure and re-activate passive memories with the aid of note-taking. Increasing lengths and difficulties of speeches of diverse topics also enables students to strengthen and apply their analytical and synthetic skills. | |||
