| 英文概述 English Description | It is the Black Ships of Mathew Perry that enforce Japan to become an open market, making the imperial Japan a great power following the Meiji Restoration. Japan is still ranked a powerful Asian nation even toady. Taiwan, as well as many other counties in Asia or in other parts of the world, starts to be affected by the Japanese culture. This course focuses on the time span between Meiji era and 1970's in the hope that anything related to Japanese culture and society will be better known. | |||
