| 英文概述 English Description | The course is to introduce the development and evolution of the Taiwan region in the past 500 years. The various stages of the reign by Hollanders, Spaniards, Cheng Ch'eng-kung, Manchurians, and Japanese will be discussed in relation to their politics, economics, social structures, educational systems, and cultural phenomena.
