| 英文概述 English Description | This course covers both the theoretical and practical aspects of applied microbiology. The foundational section progresses from basic to advanced topics and emphasizes reinforcement of essential microbiological knowledge, including classification, characteristics, and metabolism. Instruction is designed to accommodate students without a biological background, ensuring understanding of basic microbial physiology and ecology. The advanced-topic section examines the development and applications of microbiology across modern biotechnology, medicine, agriculture, and environmental remediation. Examples include the differences in development and use of probiotics, prebiotics, and postbiotics; medical applications of microbial fermentation products; applications of microbes in soil improvement and pest/disease control; and the use of microorganisms for the remediation of various anthropogenic pollutants.
