| 英文概述 English Description | This course centers on the theme "From the Middle Ages to the Industrial Revolution," exploring how human societies adapted their lifestyles and design approaches in response to technological, economic, and cultural transformations during the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Enlightenment, and the Industrial Revolution. Course topics include religious architecture and craftsmanship in the Middle Ages, the influence of aesthetics and humanist thought on Renaissance design, technological advancements of the Enlightenment, and the large-scale production and urbanization brought by the Industrial Revolution. Students will analyze how the transition from handcrafted to mechanized production impacted product design, furniture design, and architectural styles, as well as how design concepts from this period continue to influence the present day. | |||
