English Description | Additive manufacturing technology, also known as 3D printing, has attempted to revolutionize the entire manufacturing ecosystem over the past decade. It has evolved beyond prototyping and small-scale production, reaching an economically viable scale for mass production. Although additive manufacturing can be categorized into seven major types based on processing methods, when classified by engineering materials, metals hold the highest economic value and are the most widely applied in industrial settings. Therefore, this course primarily focuses on metal additive manufacturing methods, explaining the processes that enable metal 3D printing, and bridging the gap between academia and industry. The course also covers material selection for metal 3D printing, design considerations for printed parts, optimization of processing parameters, life time testing of printed parts, and numerical simulation. After completing this course, students will understand and can briefly explained: 1. The p |
