Course Objective

The course introduces nanomaterials and their preparation processes (including chemical method and physical methods). Future development and applications are also discussed. This course will cover the following topics:1. Introduction of nanomaterials and Nano-chemistry; 2. Nanomaterials: structure and analysis; 3. Quantum mechanics; 4. Nanomaterials: self-assembly; 5. Nanomaterials: simulation; 6. Carbon-based nanomaterials; 7. Advanced synthesis and processing 8. Growth and application of semiconductor nanoparticles; 9. SEG & ESG prospective.

本門授課之目的在於介紹奈米材料及其製程(包括化學法及物理法奈米材料法)，並探討奈米材料的未來發展及應用。所包括的課程主題如下：1.奈米材料與奈米化學簡介。2.奈米材料與結構分析3.量子力學; 4.奈米材料自我組成5. 奈米材料模擬6.碳化奈米材料7先進奈米材料製成 8.奈米材料的應用; 9.奈米材料的遠景與未來發展。

(Week 17-18)

Content	Students will work in groups to discuss safety issues, regulations, and public perception through online collaboration and the application of AI tools. Regarding open topics such as safety issues, regulations, and public perception of nanotechnology, students should integrate what they have learned in class to provide concrete arguments and response strategies. Deepen personal critical thinking and original analysis.
Hours	10
Learning Outcomes	This course encourages the effective use of generative AI as a tool for data organization in Week 17 and return the report as the learning outcomes.
Assessment Percentage	The outcomes of flexible learning in weeks 17–18 (the final official report and group discussions) account for 30% of the overall course grade (i.e., the final report component in the evaluation criteria). 第17-18週彈性學習之成果（期末正式報告與小組討論）占學期總成績 30%（即評量方式中之期末項目）。

Evaluation and grading policy

Class participation (20%), Homework (20%), Midterm (30%), Final Report (30%)

1. Fact-Checking Professional Knowledge and Data
2. Prohibit Blind Faith in AI Outputs:  Any physicochemical properties of nanomaterials, chemical reaction formulas, structural characterizations, experimental data, or regulatory standards in the report must be based on textbooks or peer-reviewed academic journals.
3. Trace Original Literature: All sources listed in the references must be manually retrieved and verified for authenticity.
