Course Objective	The chemical structure and properties of inorganic compounds, which are useful for the following courses: the forming and occurrence of minerals, earth and environmental chemistry, will be discussed by using quantum chemistry, group theory and crystallography.
Course Schedule	week 1 - 7: chapter 1-3 (Atomic structure, molecular structure and bonding, the structures of simple solids) week 8 - 13: chapter 4-6 (Acids and bases, oxidation and reductions, molecular symmetry) week 14-17: chapter 7-9 (an introduction to coordinate chemistry, physical techniques in inorganic chemistry, periodic trends)
Evaluation and grading policy	30% (midterm 1) + 30% (midterm 2) + 30% (final) + attendance
