Course Objective This course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the factors that drive and influence motivation in the workplace. Through a combination of theoretical frameworks, empirical research, and practical applications, students will gain insights into the complex nature of motivation and its significance in enhancing individual and organizational performance.

Course Schedule week 1: 1900-1925: Biology, Behavior, and Money week 2: 1925-1950: Dust Bowl Empiricism week 3: 1950-1975: The Emergence of Theory week 4: 1975-2000: The Employee is Immerised in Thought week 5: 20th-Century Controversies week 6-7: Needs:The Starting Point of Motivation week 8: Personality Traits: Distal Predictors of Motivation week 9: Mid-term week 10-11: Values: Trans-Situational Goals week 12-13: Cognition: Goal, Feedback, and Self-Regulation week 14-15: Social Cognitive Theory week 16-17: Affect/Emotion: The Employee Has Feelings, Too week 18: Final
