Course Objective 本課程適合所有對於如何向自然取經的創新設計策略有興趣的學生。學生將探索這個將功能、性能和美學從生物學轉換成科技的過程，及如何增進設計創造力和產生比傳統技術更好的解決方案，包括講授從原始科學突破到創業初創企業的仿生設計過程，從壁虎式粘合劑到可跑步、飛行和游泳的機器人等案例分析，以及跨領域學生團隊合作進行原創的生物啟發設計專題。 Bioinspired design views the process of how we learn from Nature as an innovation strategy translating principles of function, performance and aesthetics from biology to human technology. This course gives an overview of how bioinspired design can lead to more design creativity and to better solutions than with conventional technology. Lectures will address the biomimicry design process from original scientific breakthroughs to entrepreneurial start-ups using cases studies that include gecko-inspired adhesives and robots that run, fly and swim, Interdisciplinary teams of students will collaborate on, create, and present original bioinspired design projects.

Evaluation and grading policy ***注意*** 本課程包括Google Classroom繳交作業，並配合疫情發展而使用Google Meet視訊會議上課。未遵守以上方式的同學須承擔學期成績不及格風險。 1. 全學期課堂參與：10% 2. 三回個人論文研讀簡報：5% * 3 = 15% 3. 二項(各3案)專題設計分組成果：20% * 2 = 40% 4. 三項分組設計參賽：5% *3 = 15% 5. 一項分組國際研討會論文發表 20%
