Course Objective This module draws on the concurrent course in Heat, Mass and Momentum Transfer, which gives the necessary foundations. The aim of this module is to deepen the students knowledge of the unit operations with a focus on distillation, absorption, adsorption and drying processes. This provides a foundation for the Chemical Engineering. The present lectures will extend the Momentum Transfer to Heat and Mass Transfer. We will explore efficient short cut methods and briefly introduce the principles behind.

Course Schedule 1-4 weeks: Heat transfer by conduction 5-6 weeks: Heat Flow in Fluids 7-8 weeks: Heat Transfer to Fluid 9 week: Midterm Exam 10-12 weeks: Radiation Heat Transfer 12-14 weeks: Heat Exchanger 15 week: Mass Transfer 16 week: Final Exam 17 week: Introduction to Populatino Balance Model 18 week: Discussion class
