Course Objective	本課程主要目的在於讓學生透過熟悉財金時事所使用之英文專業名詞、市場術語，以及行業慣有之英文論述結構等提升財金領域之專業英文閱讀能力；此外，本課程亦將著重於訓練學生之英譯能力。 The major purpose of this course is to promote learners’ reading ability by training them to understand terminologies, jargons and description structure of writings in finance news and events. In addition, this course also aims to train the learners’ ability of translating English into Chinese.

Evaluation and grading policy	1. Participation & Discussion: 20% Attendance and active participation in class Contribution to group discussions and Q&A Engagement during peer presentations 2. Weekly News Analysis (In-class Presentation): 40% Group presentation of one selected news article each week (~10 minutes) Evaluation criteria: completeness of summary, data & background analysis, discussion of impacts, clarity of delivery Grading is group-based, but individual contribution will also be observed 3. Personal Report: 40% Each student submits a 1–2 page written report every week Required sections: news source, summary, background, supporting data, impact analysis, personal opinion Evaluation criteria: completeness (40%), depth of analysis (30%), originality of insights (20%), formatting & punctuality (10%)
