Course Objective This course is a special topics of Structural Ceramics. This course aims to teach students the fundamental knowledge of ceramic materials used for thermal and/or mechanical application. It will start from a quick review of ceramic materials and ceramic processing. Afterward, important concepts of the thermal and mechanical properties of ceramics will be discussed

Elasticity 7. Fracture 8. Strength and toughness 9. Crack growth 10. Permanent deformation 11. Thermal and Compositional Stresses 12. Measurement Techniques and Fractography
