Course Objective	本課程主要目的在於讓學生透過熟悉財金時事所使用之英文專業名詞、市場術語，以及行業慣有之英文論述結構等提升財金領域之專業英文閱讀能力；此外，本課程亦將著重於訓練學生之英譯能力。 The major purpose of this course is to promote learners’ reading ability by training them to understand terminologies, jargons and description structure of writings in finance news and events. In addition, this course also aims to train the learners’ ability of translating English into Chinese.
Course Schedule	Week 1: Course Introduction - Overview of course, grading, report format, and how to track reliable financial news Week 2: Tech & Finance Basics - Role of tech stocks in global markets; why they drive sentiment Week 3: Semiconductors & Supply Chains - Chip war, geopolitics, supply chain restructuring Week 4: AI & Market Impact - Generative AI boom, capital flows, productivity & risk Week 5: Tech IPOs - Startup listings (IPO, SPAC), valuation, fundraising trends Week 6: Big Tech Earnings - Apple, Meta, Amazon, NVIDIA earnings and market reactions Week 7: Digital Finance & FinTech - Virtual banks, payment innovations, digital transformation in finance Week 8: Blockchain & Crypto - Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, regulatory environment Week 9: ESG & Green Tech - EVs, renewable energy, carbon markets and sustainability Week 10: Tech & Consumer Markets - E-commerce, platform economy, advertising ecosystems Week 11: Tech War & Geopolitics - US–China tech rivalry, export controls, policy risk Week 12: Tech Investment Trends - Cross-border deals, M&A, venture capital in tech Week 13: Macroeconomics & Tech Valuations - Interest rates, inflation (CPI), Fed policies, and their impact on tech growth Week 14: Cybersecurity & Data Regulation - Cyber threats, data privacy, antitrust, and compliance costs Week 15: Comprehensive Case Study - The "Magnificent Seven", the AI capital loop (Infinite Money Glitch), and bubble risks Week 16: Course Wrap-up & Future Outlook - Semester review and forecasting future intersections of tech and finance 【彈性學習週：佔學期總成績 20%】 Week 17: Flexible Learning - 學生獨立彙整本學期所學，選定特定時事撰寫並繳交期末個人書面報告。 Week 18: Flexible Learning - 教師評閱個人書面報告 (評量標準：完整度、分析深度、見解原創性等) 與個別回饋。
Evaluation and grading policy	1. Participation & Discussion: 20% Attendance and active participation in class Contribution to group discussions and Q&A Engagement during peer presentations 2. Weekly News Analysis (In-class Presentation): 60% Every two weeks, the group presents a report on a selected news article ( ~15 minutes ). Evaluation criteria: completeness of summary, data & background analysis, discussion of impacts, clarity of delivery Grading is group-based, but individual contribution will also be observed 3. Personal Report: 20% Each student submits a Final written report Required sections: news source, summary, background, supporting data, impact analysis, personal opinion Evaluation criteria: completeness (40%), depth of analysis (30%), originality of insights (20%), formatting & punctuality (10%)

Note	彈性學習/Flexible Learning 教師需於「課程進度」填寫 1至 16週課程內容，並於下列欄位填寫 17至 18週彈性學習內容。 一、類別 (可複選) 參與課程相關作業、作品、實驗、田野調查 二、內容 (1)第 17週:本週為彈性學習，學生需彙整本學期所學之「科技與金融」核心概念，選定一則特定的重大財金時事（如科技巨頭財報、地緣政治等），獨立進行資料蒐集與分析。 (2)第 18週:學生完成撰寫並繳交 1-2 頁之期末個人書面報告 (Personal Report)，由教師進行評閱與提供個別回饋。 三、時數 總共 6小時。 四、學習成果 第 18週規定時間內繳交期末個人書面報告，以此檢視學生對新聞事件背景的掌握完整度、分析深度與見解原創性。 五、評量比例 (1)期末個人書面報告 (Personal Report):20%
