Course Objective 介紹含碳化合物的命名、結構與性質的基本概念。課程重點在反應機構、合成、立體化學、化學分析及儀器分析方法。 Fundamentals of structure and properties of carbon compounds. Emphasis on reaction mechanisms, synthesis, stereochemistry, as well as chemical and spectroscopic methods of analysis.

Course Schedule 1-3. Aldehydes & Ketones 4-5. Carboxylic Acids & Derivatives,包含 Nitriles。 6-8. Mass, IR, and NMR Spectroscopy 9. Middle Examination 10-11. Benzene, Aromaticity & Reactions 12-13. Amines & Conjugated Systems與 UV 光譜。 14-15. Polymer Chemistry & Characterization 16-17. 分組報告 18. Final Exam

Evaluation and grading policy 期中考 30% 期末考 30% 分組報告與平時活動 30% 出席成績 10% (老師將視班級整體學習狀況、報告問答互動性，保留最終成績微調之權利，以確保公平性。)
