Course Objective 介紹含碳化合物的命名、結構與性質的基本概念。課程重點在反應機構、合成、立體化學、化學分析及儀器分析方法。本課程使用Cengage平台作為作業及平時練習，疫情影響時也會使用cengage作為考試平台。 Fundamentals of structure and properties of carbon compounds. Emphasis on reaction mechanisms, synthesis, stereochemistry, as well as chemical and spectroscopic methods of analysis.

Alkenes: Reactions and Synthesis 11. Alkynes: An Introduction to Organic Synthesis 12. Organic Halides 13. Reactions of Alkyl Halides: Nucleophilic Substitutions and Eliminations 14. Structure Determination: Mass Spectroscopy and Infrared Spectroscopy(依進度調整) 15. Structure Determination: Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy(依進度調整) 16. Conjugated Compounds and Ultraviolet Spectroscopy(依進度調整) 17. Benzene and Aromaticity(依進度調整) 18. Final Examination

Evaluation and grading policy Evaluation 1- Usual activity (40 pts), Middle Exam (30 pts), Term Exam (30 pts), Additional score (10 points) Evaluation 2- Usual activity (20 pts), Middle Exam (40 pts), Term Exam (40 pts), Additional score (10 points) Evaluation 3- Middle Exam (50 pts), Term Exam (50 pts), 取三種評分最高者為期末成績。
