Course Objective 本校之普通物理課程專為工程科系背景之同學設計，主要的目的是鼓勵同學參與大自然運行奧秘、法則之探索，並供給爾後修習專業課程之堅實基礎。本課程之內容包含力學、熱力學、聲學、電磁學、光學及近代物理。教授者可按每週三小時、二個學期的時間設計、再參酌各系不同之需求、加強或節略某些章節。 The course is designed for the students with engineering background. The theme of this course is to encourage students to participate in the discovery of laws and wonder of nature, and to solidate the foundation for the particular courses of study for different departments. The contents of this course include mechanics, dynamics, thermodynamics, electromagnetics, optics, and foundation of modern physics, etc.. The lecturers will emphasize or abridge certain contents based on the individual needs of departments. For this course, there will be 3 credits for each of two semesters, and 3 lecture hours per week.

Course Schedule W1~3: Electricity: Electric Fields, Gauss’ law, Electric Potential W4~6: Capacitors, Capacitance, Resistance, Direct current circuit W7~8: Magnetism: Magnetic Fields, Faraday’s law W9: Mid-term Exam W10~11: Inductance, Alternating Current Circuits W12~13: Electromagnetic Waves W14~15: Introduction of Optics W16~17: Introduction of Modern Physics W18: Final Exam ＊將視課程情況做適度調整

Evaluation and grading policy 期中考：30% 期末考：30% 作業/小測驗：30% 其他(課程參與度): 10% 請注意！！！ 1. 作弊：成績歸零 2. 期中/期末考試缺考：不予補考、學期成績不及格！除非不得抗力之原因，須提出證明，由老師自行判斷。 3. 作業繳交的部分：遲交一週*90%, 遲交兩週*80%, 遲交3週以上就歸零計算（不用再補交）。 4. 課程參與度：依據課堂表現、學習態度、出席情況...等作為參考評分。 5. 原始成績（平時作業成績、小考、期中考成績)如有疑問，請於公告後 72小時內回覆，逾期不候，責任自行負責！
