Course Objective	本課程介紹光學之基礎原理，包括光的本質、電磁波及其傳播特性。課程內容涵蓋光線光學與幾何光學，並延伸至波動光學主題，如偏振、干涉與繞射等現象。透過期中報告，學生可統整並深化對理論概念之理解。課程後半段著重於實作實驗，包含光學系統架設與校準、繞射分析以及傅立葉轉換光學成像等內容。最後以雷射相關實驗與期末報告作為總結，使學生能將光學理論應用於實際工程情境中。 This course introduces the fundamental principles of optics, including the nature of light, electromagnetic waves, and wave propagation. It covers ray and geometrical optics, as well as wave optics topics such as polarization, interference, and diffraction. A midterm presentation enables students to consolidate their understanding of theoretical concepts. The second half of the course focuses on hands-on experiments, including optical setup and alignment, diffraction, and Fourier transform-based imaging. The course concludes with laser-related experiments and a final presentation, allowing students to apply optical theories in practical engineering contexts.
Course Schedule (Week 1-16)	Weeks 1–3 : Light and Electromagnetic Waves (Nature of Light, Electromagnetic Waves, Wave Properties, Wave Equation, and Wave Propagation) Week 4 : Rays and Wavefronts (Huygens' Principle and Fermat's Principle) Week 5: Geometrical Optics (Reflection, Refraction, and Lens Imaging) Week 6: Wave Optics (Polarization, Interference, and Diffraction) Weeks 7–8: Midterm Presentation Week 9: Laboratory Experiment: Optical Setup and Alignment (Introduction to the Fourier Optics Kit) Week 10: Laboratory Experiment: Diffraction (Single Slit Diffraction and Aperture Effects) Week 11: Laboratory Experiment: Fourier Transform, Optical Filtering, and Imaging Weeks 12–15: Laboratory Experiment: Laser-Related Experiments Week 16: Final Presentation and Submission of Final Report Weeks 17–18: Flexible Learning Activities (Lab Work & Report Completion)
