Course Objective This course is aimed at equipping students with fundamental knowledge about structural analysis for beams, frames, and trusses. This semester will focus on the analysis of statically determinate structures about their reactive forces, internal loadings, deflections, and influence lines. Energy methods for determining the structural deflections will also be presented in the course.

Course Schedule W01: Types of structures and loads W02: Basic analysis of statically determinate structures W03-04: Statically determinate trusses W05-06: Internal loadings developed in structural members W07-08: Influence lines of statically determinate structures W09: Midterm W10: Elastic beam theory W11: Double integration method W12: Conjugate-beam method W13-16: Deflections using energy methods W17: Review of statically determinate structural deflections W18: Final examination
