Course Objective 先修課程：負責教授同意。介紹運轉中的機械系統其各部零件在運動必須遵守的準則及力在零件間的傳遞。範例含連桿組、凸輪、齒輪、傳動組等的介紹。 Prerequisite: Consent of Instructor Introduction of the principles that all the members of a mechanical system have to obey in motion as well as the forces transmitted between the members. Examples include linkages, cams, gears, pure rolling systems, etc.

Course Schedule Subjects: 1. Type of mechanisms 2. Kinematic analysis of robots and linkages via Solidworks 3. Instant centers 4. Rotatability laws 5. Gross motion synthesis of linkages 6. Synthesis of linkages for function, motion and path generation via Solidworks 7. Gear tooth technology 8. Analysis and design of Gear trains 9. Introduction to cam-follower mechanisms 10. Cam profile 11. Static force analysis

Evaluation and grading policy Exams (35%): midterm exam 35% Assignments (15%) Quiz (20%) Projects (30%): competition score (10%), final report (10%), oral presentation (10%) Exception plan: There is no final exam for every student, however, if you think your quiz and competition score is too low, you may take the final exam to replace 30% of your grade. (Quiz + competition score). Don’t worry, if your final exam score is lower than your original grades (Quiz + competition score), we will take your original grades.
