Course Objective The purpose of this course is to train students to independently plan, analyze, evaluate, summarize, and think creatively through the use of project design. Through an in-depth exploration of life styles, current trends, and technological developments, students will practice the process of project design and become familiar with the knowledge and techniques of integrating design and technology. In this program, students work in groups to complete an integrated media design theme, and finally present their work in both on-campus and off-campus public exhibitions.

Course Schedule Week 1 – Initial Project Proposal Presentation & Prototype Continuation Continue prototype development from the previous semester Proposal presentation (approx. 10 slides) Written report (1 page, double-column Word document) [Design Background & Motivation I] Internal team milestone: Confirm technical direction and resume prototype building Week 2–5 – Group Discussion, Development & Early Prototyping Ongoing group discussions and refinement of concept and functionality Begin key module implementation and interaction logic testing Set targets for functional prototype by midterm Week 6 – Midterm Review II: Visual Aesthetic Confirmation & Interaction Technique Testing Live demonstration (including early prototype functions) Three A3 posters Written report (2 pages, double-column Word document) [Design Background & Motivation II] [Design & Implementation I] Updated exhibition layout plan Prototype Milestone: Functional prototype completed and demonstrable Week 7–10 – Iterative Development & Visual-Technical Integration Continued development on visuals, motion graphics, and technical structure Integrate UI/UX elements into the prototype Begin preparing documentation and materials for Midterm III Week 11 – Midterm Review III: Aesthetic & Technical Integration (Includes one invited external expert) Prototype presentation (approx. 10 slides, including video clips of interaction or use cases) Written report (2 pages, double-column Word document) [Design Background & Motivation III] [Design & Implementation II] Updated exhibition layout plan Prototype Milestone: Integration of visual and technical elements completed; preparing for final polish Week 12–16 – Final Preparation, Testing, and Competition Readiness, Final Review IV Final adjustments to visual design, UI/UX, and interactivity Implement feedback from previous reviews Package materials for design competition submission (documentation, visual assets, video) Prototype Milestone: At least 85% completion including all core features, UI, graphics, and interactions Final presentation and working prototype demonstration Five A3 posters 100-second introductory video Final written report (2 pages, double-column Word document) [Design Background & Motivation IV] [Design & Implementation III] Final exhibition layout plan Week 17、18 – Optional Online Meeting for refining the thesis project

Evaluation and grading policy Evaluation Methods and Criteria: Joint Reviews – 70% Attendance and Contribution – 20% Instructor Evaluation – 10% Attendance Policy Students who miss more than six classes without a valid reason and without submitting a leave application through the school system will forfeit all points allocated to their Attendance and Class Participation grade.
