Course Objective ＊提醒:本課程為全英語授課，對學生英語程度要求高，需要經常以英語回答問題，口頭報告並與外籍生互動，期末考也需以全英語作答。無法達成上述要求可導致無法順利通過本科目。＊本課程在一般授課時間外，每位同學也需經常到實驗室做實驗，並在課堂上討論實驗結果做為平時成績。＊Reminder: This is an international students friendly course. Domestic students are required to use full English to answer questions, do the presentation and write exam sheets. ＊In addition to regular class hours, this course requires frequent laboratory experiments. The experimental results will be discussed in class and will count towards the continuous assessment.

Course Schedule week 1: Introduction and review of constitutive modeling fundamentals week 2: Introduction to biochar: Production, properties, and composite applications week 3: Lab work: Biochar sample preparation and SEM/XRD characterization week 4: Lab work: FTIR, TGA, and BET surface area analysis for biochar week 5: MATLAB coding: Data processing for characterization results week 6: MATLAB coding: Visualization and statistical analysis of biochar properties week 7: Subroutine code: Material property database design week 8: Implementation of characterization data into FE material models week 9: Midterm exam week 10: Introduction to tensile testing: ASTM/ISO standards and specimen preparation week 11: PDE constitutive equations for tensile behavior (elastic-plastic response) week 12: PDE constitutive equations for tensile behavior (damage and fracture) week 13: MATLAB coding of constitutive equations for tensile behavior week 14: MATLAB coding of constitutive equations 2 (parameter identification) week 15: Subroutine code for tensile constitutive models week 16: Implementation of subroutine code to FE (tensile simulation) week 17: Summary of course / Repetition week 18: Final exam
