Course Objective This course is intended to provide the students with theory and application of structural analysis as applies to trusses, beams, and frames. This semester of this course focuses on analysis of statically determinate structures.

Course Schedule W01: Types of structures and loads W02: Basic analysis of statically determinate structures W03-04: Internal forces of trusses W05-07: Internal loadings developed in structural members W08: Influence lines of statically determinate structures W09: Midterm W10: Elastic beam theory W11: Double integration method W12: Conjugate-beam method W13-15: Deflections using energy methods W16: Deflection of composite structures (i) W17: Deflection of composite structures (ii) W18: Final examination

Evaluation and grading policy Attendance, quiz, lecture activity: 20% +/- 5% Midterm: 30% +/- 5% Final Exam.: 50% +/- 10% Failure Due to Absences (FDA): Absences of more than 6 hours may result in a failing grade.
