Course Objective	Theoretical and computational aspects of finite element method include rod, beam, frame, triangular and quadrilateral elements, assembly process, solution techniques, isoparametric formulation, and plane stress applications. Program development and modification are expected as well as learning the use of existing codes.
Course Schedule	1. Introduction to the finite element method. 2. Application in structural analysis 3. Review of three dimensional linear elasticity. 4. Finite element solution of two dimensional elasticity problems. 5. Higher order and mapped elements in two and three dimensions. 6. Introduction to finite element analysis softwares.
