Course Objective 本課程之目的是訓練並教導研究生經由聆聽演講與文獻閱讀，來發掘及思考學術研究之發展與其目前所面臨的挑戰。包括論文之蒐集與閱讀、實驗流程設計、儀器之基本原理、結果分析、討論與結論等。 The objective of this course is to train and guide graduate students to identify emerging research directions and critically evaluate current challenges in academic research through seminar attendance and scientific literature review. The course covers key aspects of research practice, including literature search and analysis, experimental design, fundamental principles of scientific instruments, data interpretation, discussion of results, and formulation of conclusions.

Course Schedule 課程實施依照一般研討會模式進行，施行規範詳列如下： 1. 本課程上課時間為每週三 13:10 – 15:00。 2. 博士生、碩二生文獻報告時間必需控制在20分鐘，回答問題約5-10分鐘，需著整齊服裝。 3. 每位學生必需全程參與，觀摩學習學術研討之進行，並於期間提出相關疑問。 4. 文獻: 須出自 SCI 所收錄之期刊，且必須為正式的學術研究報導。 5. 口頭報告佔學期總成績之70 %，提問與出席率佔30 %。碩一生出席率佔總成績之60 %，提問與服務佔40 %。每缺席一次扣總成績5分，兩次遲到或早退等同於缺席一次。 6. 學生須於報告前備妥內容摘要與文獻電子檔，並於報告三天前並傳送所有學生與授課老師。 7. 口頭報告有重大缺失者，得於學期結束前重講，得更換文獻。問題回答未盡完善者，須於一週後備妥資料上台報告。 8. 課程中不得使用手機。 The course will be conducted in a standard conference format. The course regulations are as follows: 1. Classes are held every Wednesday from 1:10 PM to 3:00 PM. 2. PhD students and 2nd-year master students are required to deliver a literature presentation within 20 minutes, followed by a 5–10 minute question-and-answer session. Students are expected to dress appropriately during their presentations. 3. All students are required to attend the entire seminar session, actively observe and learn from academic discussions, and participate by raising relevant questions when appropriate. 4. Literature Selection: The selected articles must be published in SCI-indexed journals and must be original research papers. 5. Grading Policy: * For graduate students presenting literature reviews, oral presentations account for 70% of the final grade, while participation through questioning and attendance accounts for 30%. * For first-year master's students, attendance accounts for 60% of the final grade, while participation, questioning, and service contributions account for 40%. * Each absence will result in a deduction of 5 points from the final grade. Two instances of tardiness or early departure will be counted as one absence. 6. Students must prepare a presentation summary and an electronic copy of the selected article and distribute them to all students and the instructor at least three days before the presentation. 7. Students whose oral presentations contain significant deficiencies may be required to repeat their presentations before the end of the semester and may select a different article if necessary. Students who provide insufficient responses during the discussion session must prepare additional information and deliver a follow-up presentation one week later. 8. The use of mobile phones is prohibited during class.

Evaluation and grading policy 博士生與碩二生口頭報告佔學期總成績之70 %，提問與出席率佔30 %。碩一生出席率佔總成績之60 %，提問與服務佔40 %。每缺席一次扣總成績5分，兩次遲到或早退等同於曠課一次。 Assessment: * Presenting students: Oral presentation (70%), attendance and participation (30%). * Non-presenting first-year master's students: Attendance (60%), participation and seminar service (40%). * A deduction of 5 points will be applied for each absence.
