Course Objective	This course is aimed for, but not limited to, graduate students who are lack of background in Materials Science and Engineering. The topics will include: 1.The structure of crystalline solids, 2. imperfections in solids, 3. phase transformation and phase diagram, 4. properties, process and applications of metallic alloys, ceramics, and polymers. 本課程主要針對非材料系背景之研究生開設， 對各種材料（金屬、陶瓷、高分子、複合材料）之基本原理，性質及應用，做概要性的介紹。內容包括材料之晶體結構與晶體缺陷，固體材料之原子擴散，相圖與相變化，材料製程及應用，材料之物理性質（光性質、電性質、磁性質及熱性質）。
Course Schedule	Tinstructor will attend an International Conference on Sep. 8. Evaluation and grading policy	30% mid term exam，30% final exam，40% assignment and performance in class. All assignments are given and scored via TEAMS.microsoft.com. No paper hand-in is accepted.
