Course Objective 即使科學昌明如此，但我們日常生活中使用的、不斷推陳出新的照相機、攝錄影機、影印機等，在在都說明幾何光學現在仍然是主宰設計的工具。光學主要是藉著對光本質方面的瞭解，發展有關的理論基礎與計算法則，並進而用在日常生活且增益人類福祉的一門科學。幾何光學則是光學理論中，一連串近似運算的結果，著重在成像的效果和應用的一門工具性知識。本系之幾何光學是一學期、三學分、每週三小時的課程，教學內容大致包含以下三部份：一、介紹光的性質、在介面上反射、折射之有關定理、成像的原因及應用。二、分析像差現象及其成因與評估。三、淺介透鏡之設計。
