Course Objective 本課程是較大學部的「岩石力學」課程為之深入探討岩石行為的課程，將針對岩石的指數性質、透水性、強度及變形性做一回顧，並介紹岩力在基礎、隧道、邊坡等工程上之應用。上課並將佐以論文研究，以培養學生之研究興趣鍛鍊相關研究工具及方法為主。其涵蓋的論文內容大致如下： 1、量綱分析與相似性 2、裂力在岩石力學上之應用 (如貫裂破壞、水力破壞) 3、後尖峰強度之穩定性 4、榫塊理論 (暫定，依實際需要調整之)等。 Compared to the undergraduate Rock Mechanics course, this is a more advanced course to examine the behaviors of rocks under different stress conditions。 It will review the index properties, the permeability properties, the strength properties, and the deformation properties of rocks, and focus on the application of rock mechanics to (1). Underground tunneling and mining, (2). Slope stability, and (3). Foundation engineering。 Additionally, to improve research motivation and ability, this course will introduce students to some concepts: (1) Dimensional analysis and Similarity; (2). Fracture mechanics including indentation fracture and hydrofracturing; (3). Post-peak response and stability/bifurcation; (4). (To be adjusted). The students taking this course will have plenty of reading assignments, and are required to participate in the classroom discussions.
