Course Objective	本課程介紹固體，尤其是半導體的光學性質，目的在了解光學檢測及光電元件的基礎原理。 藉由學習電磁波與半導體的交互作用，一方面可了解光在半導體中的產生、傳播、吸收、散射、及在界面的透射與反射等現象的規律，另一方面亦可認識光學特性與能帶結構、聲子結構、束縛與自由電子、及各種激發態之間的關係。課程內容包含固態物理複習、光學特性簡介、古典模型、帶間躍遷、激子、螢光現象、半導體低維系統的光學性質、自由載子及缺陷的光學性質、聲子相關特性、非線性光學性質等。
Course Schedule	1週: Overview 2-3週: Review of concepts in quantum physics 4-5週: Review of concepts in solid state physics 6-7週: Introduction to optical properties of solids 8週: Classical propagation (I) 9週: Midterm exam. 10週: Classical propagation (II) 11-12週: Interband absorption 13週: Excitons 14-15週: Luminescence 16-17週: Quantum confinement 18週: Final (課程內容與進度將視學生程度與學習情形調整.)
